On a cool November day, Caitlin and David tied the knot surrounded by their closest family and friends. Their intimate backyard wedding in Swansea, MA was filled with so much love, laughter, and meaningful moments. I am still so grateful I got to be a part of it.

Just a month before their wedding date, I received a message from a mutual friend on Instagram:

“I have a client whose photographer canceled on them. Their wedding is 11/2 in Swansea. Not sure if you’re available or interested.”

Thankfully, I was available, and the moment I connected with Caitlin and David, it felt like it was meant to be.

Less than a week later, Caitlin and I hopped on a phone call to talk through all the details of their day. A few days after that, we met up at a local brewery (shameless plug for my favorite brewery, The Guild!!) for some beers and a chance to get to know each other in person. One of the most important and one of my favorite parts of working with couples is building that connection before the wedding day because it makes all the difference and truly translates into the photos.

Caitlin and David shared their vision for the day: a relaxed, joyful celebration focused on spending time with the people they love most, including their sweet dog, Newman.

The morning of their wedding, the energy was calm and happy. Everything felt effortless and was a true reflection of Caitlin and David’s easygoing love. They chose to wait until the ceremony to see each other for the first time. That moment, David’s reaction, and the way they held onto each other afterward was honestly one of the most beautiful parts of the day.
After a long season, it reminded me why I love what I do and why I keep showing up for my couples in any way I can.

The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and a whole lot of love under the autumn sky. It was simple, heartfelt, and completely them.

What Caitlin and David had to say:

“Sami was such a pivotal part of my wedding day and quite honestly saved it! I lost my wedding photographer a month before my wedding date and Sami was available and ready to go. I wish I had found her long before! From getting to know us so quickly and being so attentive to detail made all my stress go away. She found a second shooter for us and my pictures are straight out of a fairytale. I will cherish these photos forever and can never thank her enough. And I’ve definitely found my maternity shoot photographer too if she’s up for that. Best New England photographer you will ever find!”
