On a beautiful September day in Providence, Kelsey and Dylan celebrated their wedding surrounded by the sweetest friends and family. It’s one of those days I’ll always want to go back and relive. Everything about it felt joyful, relaxed, and so incredibly full of love.
At our final meeting before the big day, Kelsey casually mentioned that they might have forgotten to book a videographer. She wasn’t sure if she’d end up regretting it or not. After talking a bit, we came up with the perfect backup plan: two camcorders passed around the bridal party throughout the day. I’m definitely not a videographer. I don’t know the first thing about editing video, but going through all the clips and putting together a little highlight video for them ended up being one of my favorite parts of the season.
We kicked off the morning at The Graduate Hotel. Kelsey and her girls had Taylor Swift playing, a Polaroid camera being passed around, and the kind of energy that just fills a room with happiness. There was so much laughter and excitement from the moment I walked in. One of my favorite moments from the morning was when Cady from Homegrown Blooms personally delivered Kelsey’s bouquet. It was such a sweet, emotional moment, and I’m so glad I was able to capture it.
Meanwhile, Dylan and the guys were keeping things a little more serious. They were fully focused on getting ready and making sure everything ran on time.
For their first look, Kelsey and Dylan wanted something that felt natural and fun without any pressure. They came up with the idea of doing it in the elevator, and it was honestly perfect. Dylan and I waited in the lobby while Kelsey rode down on her own. When the doors opened and they saw each other for the first time, it was nothing but smiles and happiness. After a few portraits around the lobby and on the terrace, we walked through the city streets with their wedding party on our way to The Ballroom at The Providence G.
The rest of the day unfolded so beautifully. Their ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion, and their reception was an absolute blast. The toasts given by their friends and family were some of the most touching I have heard, filled with so much love and laughter. It truly was a day I’ll never forget, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it. I can only hope I get the chance to photograph Kelsey and Dylan again someday.
